Entries invited for 2014 Salford Business Awards

IMG_0356The 2014 Salford Business Awards opens for entries today (Tuesday 14th January).

Businesses of all sizes and industries from the city are invited to enter one or more of the eight categories, which include awards for innovation, entrepreneurship and work in the community.

The closing date for entries to the Awards, which are sponsored by TalkTalk Technology and jointly organised by Salford City Council, the University of Salford and The Business Group Salford, is Friday 28th February. Following judging and shortlisting in April, winners and runners-up will be announced at a ceremony held at Salford City Stadium on Thursday 5th June 2014.

Applying for the Awards is simple and applications will be accepted from any Salford-based business online at www.salfordbusinessawards.co.uk/application-form/. The award categories are:

  • Innovation Award
  • Excellence Award
  • Energy and Environment Award
  • Community Award
  • Entrepreneur Award
  • International Trade Award
  • Rising Star Award
  • Best Employer Award

All applicants are automatically entered into the Business of the Year Award.

Salford City Mayor Ian Stewart said: “These Awards are a great way to celebrate the success of businesses in Salford. I have made it a priority to support local businesses and to attract further inward investment from across Britain and around the world.

“I will always be committed to supporting businesses who choose to locate and start-up in Salford. They bring jobs and investment to the city and need to be celebrated through events like the Salford Business Awards.”
